All UTSA Faculty, Staff, and Students (and family members) are invited to join UTSA in the March on Saturday, March 25 at 10:00am. UTSA is honoring the work of César Chávez by participating in the 27th Annual San Antonio César Chávez March for Justice. By the late 1970s, UFW helped improve rights for 50,000 field workers in California and Florida. His community-based, aggressive but nonviolent tactics gained the farm workers' struggle nationwide support.

He grew up as Mexican American farm worker, who later fought for worker’s rights, and has become the best-known Mexican American civil rights activist. Chávez was a labor leader and civil rights activist who, with Dolores Huerta, co-founded the National Farm Workers Association and later the United Farm Workers (UFW) union. Chávez encouraged us to embrace so that we can overcome the injustices and inequalities our communities face. Equally important, it is a day to never forget the Sí Se Puede Spirit César E.
